Prices On The Up
Increasing prices in Spain mean a host of advantages to buying soon. A strong start to 2018, following rises in 2017, means a great time to act with the price rise in place long enough to look like a trend but recent enough to keep prices affordable. For now.
The PropertyWire specialist news service describes the market in Spain as being “at the highest level since the market started recovering”, adding: “Land Registry data published by the National Institute of Statistics show that sales increased by 16% in 2017, the fourth and biggest consecutive year of growth. The figures also show that sales were up 8% in December, the highest monthly growth since December 2008.”
Brexit? Your Reassurance
Buyers from GB and Northern Ireland – a vital part of the economy in Spain – have been told their lives will not be disrupted post-Brexit by any less than Spanish Foreign Minister Alfonso Dastis. We will, of course, still see some hesitancy from a small number of buyers who – perhaps – aren’t receiving the quality of advice our clients enjoy.
This tends to make an increase in rental demand and prices happen. So, while you’ve have bought your new home at the still-low current prices, if you decide to rent the property out you’ll enjoy the likelihood of rising rental values. Set against your initial outlay, while the ‘wait and see’ minority will be paying more for purchasing and rental costs your Return on Investment is likely to be larger.
