Los Alcázares

Los Alcázares is a beautiful former fishing village on the Costa Cálida in the Murcia Region of southern Spain. Located on the shores of the Mar Menor, Los Alcázares offers tourists and seasonal residents of the village seven kilometres of coastline from Los Narejos to Punta Brava.
Over the centuries, Los Alcázares was a popular resort - during Roman times, and later, when it was part of Al-Andalus (circa 730 - 1272) and again, at the turn of the twentieth century. Each time, bathhouses and spas attracted people to the coast, with the consistently warm temperatures and beaches.
Los Alcázares is only 5 minutes drive from San Javier airport, with the larger airport of Alicante, only 45 minutes away, on main roads. It isn’t far from other attractions and places of interest, including Cartagena, a historic town, La Zenia shopping centre, and La Manga, all around 20 minutes drive away.
Los Alcázares is a town of two halves. The old town is quieter, full of history and architecture and where you will find the annual fiestas, carnivals and street markets. In the new town, where you will find a boulevard and numerous side streets, with a great range of restaurants, bars and shops, catering to every taste. Both sides of the town face onto the Mar Menor, with warm tranquil beaches and water that is usually calm enough to swim in. It is easy to see why property is in demand around here and why the town attracts holidaymakers from Spain’s big cities and much further afield.
Popular with water sports enthusiasts, from jet ski to kite and windsurfing fans, Los Alcázares is the perfect place to enjoy yourself on or near the water. Spinosa is a kite surfing school with a two-story bar and restaurant overlooking the sea. Ideal for a drink or kite surfing.
Unlike other holiday resorts, Los Alcázares retains a lot of the authentic Spanish charm that you can’t find elsewhere in Spanish town popular with overseas tourists. Buying a property in or around the town is a smart investment that will allow you to enjoy the area as often as you want.

"For some years I’d been thinking about buying a place in Spain so finally decided in February 2014 to start looking on the net, but feeling a bit unsure about the internet I was telling my mate Bryan who lives in Boston, USA, and he advised me to contact Dream Spanish Homes.

I looked into them and visited their testimonials page. Some days later, I contacted them by phone they were pleasantly assuring and very easy to talk too and totally made my uncertainties disappear and as I was considering taking a small mortgage on a property they arranged all the necessary documents needed getting my credit score sorted.

In April, we headed to Spain. And after 3/4 days viewing and having seen many properties I was deciding between 2 so they then let me see how far I was away from many of amenities by walking with me from the properties to the beach etc, I finally put the bid on one and the next day it was accepted then it was off to the solicitors recommended by them and we then organised the Notary and the mortgage.

They were by my side the whole time checking papers etc., and at night they showed me around so I never felt alone and I am so glad I took my friends advice and contacted them, we still keep in contact and I would advise anyone contemplating buying in Spain to use their knowledge and support. Buying a car back home was more stressful!

I’ve had my place over a year now and love going out to it. Thanks again for everything."
